Dad used to joke about our ‘inheritance’ and would refer to the investments and shares he had in the safe that were destined to become a part of it.
Krugerrands, sovereigns, coinage, etc. (I recall a krugerrand looking like a giant gold wrapped Christmas chocolate compared to the smaller sovereigns.
