I noticed that the union flags that manifest along the harbourside appeared on the eve of The Reform Party conference although I’m unsure if the act was co-ordinated for that event.
And, by further coincidence, a person named ‘Andy’ appeared in YouTube feeds over the same period of time this week and started his manifesto speech with “This is a warning to the British Authorities …” and then encouraged UK men and women to rise up patriotically against this, that and the other before warning that, unless such folk were entirely loyal and committed to “The Cause”, they would not be allowed to stay in said group!
On exploring that ‘Smoggy’ YT channel further, I noted several other videos all sharing a similar theme and all populated with a similar shambolic demographic; meaning that, in every video there were groups of individuals all waving banners and shouting expletive laden sentiments while clutching their cans of lager or Cutter’s Choice and marching the streets of the Northern social housing estates and towns they were filmed frequenting.
Put it this way. I didn’t see any square chinned Hollywood style anti-heroes I’d be prepared to pick up arms and march beside and I’m not even sure just how inspirational anyone can be when their collective style of dress is shell suit, dressing gown or Mr Blobby outfit.
Flying a union flag is fine if that’s your thing but it must be harder and more of a challenge to feel proud to be British when marching with clowns barely able to form a sentence in the King’s English without adding a curse or an expletive every other word. 🙁
