I haven’t got time, (ironically), at the moment but … while I can understand our concept of time and space to be an utter and entire illusion and, (as Einstein noted and others have since confirmed), ideas of past, present and future (and every action ever manifest – and every action of you and I), are already burned onto that ‘disk’, I don’t understand how we can discuss the heat death of the universe, (some time in our understanding of time and space), because, surely, the so called heat death of the universe, (where ultimately, entropy finally wins its fight against dynamism), is burned also into said disk and the whole thing, from whatever beginning there was, probably way way before what we call the big bang, is encompassed along with everything from then till the very end awaiting the universe!
And, while we might regard the stop / go frame by frame understanding of ‘our now’ as some human based experience of whatever this thing called life actually is, is it not the case that if everything is, indeed, burned onto a disk as a fateful already pre-ordained ‘life path’ of everything we assume rolls along with us in the universe, then what the heck is or was that ‘device’ even created for … and by what?
And, parallel, what might we make of a fact that suggests everything is actually in 2D anyway, and possibly orbiting a black hole as ‘mere information’ due to the apparent law that information can never be destroyed?
BTW. I’m really comfy with the DVD / CD style play of time concept, (including going back or forward like just choosing an audio track), and established that idea myself decades before understanding or knowing about the Einstein way except, in my version, I believe that we ‘render’ our now and our existence each microsecond only when it is needed, a bit like a PC game streams graphics to the player only when required … and I base this ‘efficiency’ on nature herself becasue nature doesn’t ever waste resources or tricks to generate whatever she needs in the most simple though ingenious fashion.
When I walk up the passage at Beach Cottage, I look out into the high street one way or another and I believe, if I’m looking to my left that nothing at all exists to my right, (or behind me), until I ‘create’ my reality by observing and stepping out into it.
Remember. Our brain exists in a totally bleak and black cage within the skull and only has a second hand understanding of what lies ‘out there’ beyond the sensors of our eyes, ears, touch and smell.
The true REAL reality being way too overwhelming and complicated for our limited human senses to either comprehend or process so all we ever get is the ‘conversion’, the hallucination, the best guess low fi sensory info our brain draws us in blocky low resolution based on the data that is sent into its entirely black prison.
Anyway, before getting some better understanding by watching attached viddy, consider what time, space, reality and human experience really is …
It is a still image … that’s all … but, intriguingly, it is an image that can be viewed, pored over and experienced from zillions of points of view encompassing past, present, future and … well … and whatever other ways and means all the lifeforms of earth can deduce there own understanding of reality.
I mean … a bat sees reality as a series of bounced back beams. A bee sees it as a myriad of psychedelic colours and an electron microscope or a radio telescope sees it in bandwidths of radio / colour entirely invisible to ourselves.
So … not only is reality a pre-defined crystal like object viewable from any point in time or space but even then it requires an observer with a specific key or code to reveal aspects that, perhaps, remain entirely privy only to that particular lifeform!
