C & J From diary
Compared with now, our lives were simple and for me, the joy of meeting someone so, so special transformed my own life. We enjoyed a passionate and emotional relationship and we were able to share every aspect of life together.
It seems utterly unbelievable now but when we moved into Hope Terrace, we got really excited at just boiling a kettle and sharing a cuppa in our “own home”.
Going for walks with Harvey, watching a video together or just sharing the same space and time….. was enough.
Back then we were Chris and Jackie.A couple in love.
I had never known or experienced such love before, (or been a part of a REAL family), but Jackie gave me that experience – and two fantastic children….. and I started to get on and create a successful career and life.
Of course we had ups and downs – everyone does BUT for the most part, we were the envy of our friends and, even 15 years on, still in love, we used to boast that we had lasted longer than just about everyone we knew.
I recall the first 16 YEARS being pretty good. We were best friends, intense lovers and happy to live inside each others pockets day in and day out.
For me, the happiest days of my life were the days spent at Orchard Avenue with Jac kieand our young family. The seven dwarf rabbits, the massive lawn and garden, the inflatable boat filled with water acting as a makeshift paddling pool.
Later, we moved into a brand new 3 bedroom house less than 150 yards from our old one, building our home exactly as we wanted … pursuing our perfect life.
Until I thought of That Thing.
